The Treatment

What Invisalign Is

Invisalign is a brand of clear aligner made by Align Technology. An aligner is a thin, clear plastic tray made to fit closely over your teeth. It does the work of braces without brackets or wires.

You receive a series of aligners. Each one moves your teeth a small, planned amount, and you change to the next one every one to two weeks. Small tooth-coloured attachments may be bonded to a few teeth to help the aligners grip.

Patients across Gurugram (Gurgaon) choose aligners mainly because they are hard to see and can be taken out to eat and to brush.

  • Clear and hard to notice at work or in photographs
  • Removable, so you eat, brush and floss as normal
  • No brackets or wires to rub the cheeks and lips
  • A digital plan shows the expected result before you start

Who It Suits

Problems Invisalign Can Correct

Aligners treat most of the problems that braces treat. These are the common ones.

  • Crowded teeth

Teeth that overlap or twist because the jaw has too little room for them.

  • Gaps between teeth

Spaces between the front teeth or along the arch that you would like closed.

  • Overbite

Upper front teeth that sit too far over or ahead of the lower teeth.

  • Underbite

Lower front teeth that close in front of the upper teeth.

  • Crossbite

Some upper teeth that bite inside the lower teeth instead of outside them.

  • Teeth that moved after braces

Teeth that have shifted years after earlier treatment, often because retainers were not worn.

Some complex cases are still treated better with fixed braces. An examination and a scan show which option suits your teeth, and we will tell you plainly if braces are the better choice.

Step by Step

How Invisalign Treatment Works

Most of the treatment happens at home. This is the usual order.

  1. Consultation and scan

The orthodontist examines your teeth and bite, then takes photographs, X-rays and a scan of your teeth.

  2. Your treatment plan

Each tooth movement is planned on screen. You see the expected result, the number of aligners and the cost before you decide.

  3. Fitting the first aligners

Your aligners are made to order. At the fitting we place any attachments and show you how to put the aligners in and take them out.

  4. Wearing and changing aligners

You wear each set for 20 to 22 hours a day and move to the next set as advised. We check progress every 6 to 8 weeks.

  5. Retainers

When the teeth are in place, retainers hold them there. Without retainers, teeth slowly move back.

Daily Life

Living With Your Aligners

The result depends on how many hours a day the aligners are in your mouth.

Wearing them

  • Wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, including while you sleep.
  • Take them out to eat, and to drink anything except plain water.
  • Keep them in their case whenever they are out of your mouth.
  • Change to the next set on the day your orthodontist advises.

Keeping them clean

  • Brush your teeth after eating, before the aligners go back in.
  • Rinse the aligners and clean them gently with a soft brush.
  • Use cool water. Hot water can bend the plastic.
  • Keep the previous set until you are settled in the new one.

Call us if

  • An aligner is lost or cracked. Wear the previous set until we advise you.
  • An attachment comes off a tooth.
  • A new aligner still does not fit fully after a few days.

What Affects Invisalign Cost

Get an estimate first

Send us photos of your teeth for a first opinion. A firm figure follows the scan, and payment in instalments is available.

Ask on WhatsApp
  • How far the teeth need to moveMild crowding or small gaps need fewer aligners than a bite correction.
  • The number of alignersMore sets mean a longer treatment and a higher total.
  • RefinementsSome cases need a few extra aligners at the end to finish the result.
  • RetainersRetainers are needed after every treatment. Ask whether they are included in your estimate.

Common Questions

Questions About Invisalign

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Mild cases can finish in about six months. Most take between 6 and 18 months, and complex bite corrections can take longer. Your orthodontist gives you an expected timeline after the scan.

How much does Invisalign cost in Gurugram?

The cost depends on how far your teeth need to move and how many aligners that takes, so it differs from one person to the next. We share a written estimate after the consultation and scan, before you commit.

Is Invisalign better than braces?

Neither is better for everyone. Aligners are less visible and come out for meals, but they work only if you wear them as advised. Braces stay on the teeth, so they work all the time, and they suit some complex cases better. Your orthodontist will tell you which fits your teeth.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Expect pressure or tightness for the first two or three days of each new set. That is the aligner moving your teeth, and it settles. Sharp or lasting pain is not normal, so call us if you have it.

Can teenagers have Invisalign?

Yes, once enough permanent teeth have come in. The main question is whether your teenager will wear the aligners for the full hours every day. If that is unlikely, fixed braces are the safer choice.

Can I eat and drink with the aligners in?

Take them out for all food and for every drink except plain water. Tea, coffee and coloured drinks stain the aligners, and sugar trapped under them can cause decay.

Will I need retainers afterwards?

Yes. Teeth tend to drift back towards their old positions after any orthodontic treatment, with aligners or with braces. Retainers hold the result, and your orthodontist will tell you how often to wear them.
